Parental Alienation claims should be considered fraud. Until you can go to the court with specific evidence of something. Not just hypothetical theory.

Thank you, Jill Jones-Soderman, for bravely shedding light on the devastating misconduct happening in family courts across the country. The case against Attorney Emily Gelmann is a tragic example of systemic failures that I, too, have personally experienced—this time in the Connecticut family court system.
In my case, despite overwhelming, documented evidence of abuse—including police reports, forensic interviews, medical evaluations, and witness statements—the court still handed my children over to their known abuser. Instead of protecting vulnerable children, the system enabled their continued victimization.
Just like in the Gelmann case, the opposing counsel in my case—working alongside certain court-appointed professionals—weaponized false psychological narratives to discredit me as a protective parent. I was wrongfully portrayed as suffering from alcoholism, paranoia, and childhood trauma—without any formal diagnosis or credible clinical evaluation. These baseless attacks ignored the documented danger my children were in and instead focused on vilifying me for trying to protect them.
They twisted court orders, suppressed crucial evidence, and disregarded mandatory reports from schools, doctors, and mental health professionals who had confirmed my children’s disclosures of abuse. My children’s voices were systematically silenced, their trauma invalidated, and their safety sacrificed.
Just as the article describes about Attorney Gelmann’s conduct, I witnessed firsthand the following disturbing patterns:
Distortion of court orders to mislead the court and involved professionals
Suppression and manipulation of critical evidence, including abuse disclosures
Unfounded and defamatory psychological accusations against the protective parent
Mischaracterization of therapeutic processes and misuse of mental health terminology to serve a litigation agenda
Failure to prioritize the best interests and safety of the children
The human cost of this misconduct is enormous. My children—like the children in the Gelmann case—have endured severe emotional and psychological harm as a direct result of these unethical legal tactics. Their trauma has deepened, their trust in adults has been shattered, and their childhood has been stolen.
This is not a single bad-actor problem. This is a systemic failure—a nationwide crisis playing out in family courts from Washington D.C. to Connecticut and beyond. The misuse of false psychological narratives and the unethical manipulation of court proceedings to punish protective parents and silence child victims must stop.
We need more journalism like this. More exposure. More protective parents willing to speak out, despite the fear of retaliation. And above all, we need meaningful accountability for attorneys, GALs, therapists, and judges who violate their duty to protect children and uphold justice.
To the Connecticut Judicial Review Council, the Governor’s Office, and the State Bar: The time for action is long overdue. My case, like so many others, stands as a painful testament to what happens when courts reward abusers and punish protective parents.
To other parents enduring this nightmare: Document everything. Seek trauma-informed expert evaluations. File complaints. Speak out. Your voice matters—and collective action is our most powerful tool for change.
People should also be made aware that ANYONE can file a complaint. My labrador can file one - the filing does not give it merit. This mom sounds like she doesn't want to take responsibility for her actions.

Wow this seems like quite a stretch, I see you've lost your marbles Jill.

Emily Gelmann is a top notch attorney and this complaint and the coverage of it is reckless and uninformed.
Thank you for covering these horrendous crimes ruining childrens lives.
